Uniting to Protect Our Community

Dear Local Politicians,

As the Jamari Terrell Williams Foundation, we would like to make a heartfelt plea to you to join us in our efforts to promote bullying and suicide prevention in our community. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing bullying and suicide by educating teachers, leaders, and the community about the harmful effects of these issues.

Bullying and suicide are public health concerns that affect individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. In recent years, we have seen a sharp increase in bullying and suicide rates, particularly among young people. As a nonprofit, we believe that the government, schools, families, and communities have a shared responsibility to address these issues and create a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone.

We understand that you have many competing demands on your time and resources, but we believe that your support is crucial to our mission. We urge you to consider the urgency and importance of our cause, and the critical role that you can play in helping us achieve our goals.

There are several ways in which you can get involved and support our organization:

  1. Provide funding and resources: As a nonprofit, we rely on donations and grants to sustain our operations and expand our programs. Your support can make a significant difference in our ability to reach more schools and communities, hire more staff, and provide more resources to those in need.
  2. Raise awareness and promote our message: As elected officials, you have a powerful platform to raise awareness about the impact of bullying and suicide on individuals and communities. By speaking out and promoting our message, you can help us reach a wider audience and encourage more people to get involved.
  3. Advocate for policies and laws that support bullying and suicide prevention: We believe that government has an important role to play in creating policies and laws that support bullying and suicide prevention. By advocating for legislation that addresses these issues, you can help create a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.

We ask that you consider these ways in which you can get involved and support our organization's efforts. Together, we can make a difference and create a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.

The Jamari Terrell Williams Foundation was founded in memory of Jamari Terrell Williams, a 10-year-old boy who tragically took his own life after experiencing bullying at school. Our mission is to prevent other families from experiencing the same pain and loss that we did. Through our educational programs and resources, we aim to empower students, teachers, and parents to recognize the signs of bullying and suicide, and to take action to prevent them.

We are committed to making a positive impact in our community, but we cannot do it alone. We need your support and partnership to achieve our goals. By working together, we can create a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Sincerely,

Monique Davis

Jamari and his friend try out for the jump rope team. When his friend doesn't make it, Jamari refuses to leave her behind, cheering her on every day until they both make the team together. Kind actions today create a better tomorrow.

Jamari has a big heart for animals. He rescued FeFe, Scooter, and Mack, giving each of them love, care, and a safe home. Mack, FeFe, and Scooter were more than pets, they were family. Jamari taught us that kindness means caring for all living things. Small choices. Big impact. Together, we can make our world better!

Jamari notices someone feeling left out, so he says hello and invites him to play. They all laugh, play, and have fun together! We are all different, and that's what makes our world amazing.

Jamari feels unsure about himself, until he remembers his strengths and the things he's good at, and uses his gifts to help another student. Everyone has gifts. Believe in yourself.

Our class talks about what makes us unique. Jamari shares that he loves to dance, and some students laugh because he is different. The teacher explains that everyone is different, and that's okay. Different is beautiful, together we shine.
